Director Ayako Masuda

SVA Management & Director (Pediatric MFA / Emergency Response)

Hello, I'm Ayako Masuda, the Director. Thank you very much for visiting our website. So that children are never confused between the rules at school and the rules at home, we stay in close contact with parents to keep their daily routines as consistent as possible, and we raise the children together with you. I am a mother of three (now 25, 20 and 10) and a grandmother to a 5-year-old. There are no easy "answers" in parenting and education, but I hope that my own experience can be of some help to you.

English Teachers

Connecting to the world: our English teachers

From Algeria, Sweden, Indonesia, the Philippines and Myanmar. Native and bilingual teachers with diverse backgrounds support our daily English immersion.

Ms. Hafida
English Teacher

Hafida Algeria

My name is Hafida. I am from Algeria. I have been working as an English teacher since I graduated in 2001. I am passionate about creating a relaxed environment where children feel safe, respected and supported as they learn, discover and grow. I believe enabling every child to believe in themselves and giving them confidence is crucial for a good learning. Just be positive. It is important.

Ms. Jessicka
English Teacher

Jessicka Sweden

My name is Jessicka, and I am originally from Sweden. I have worked as a teacher in Japan for nearly ten years. Before joining SVA, I trained and worked as a special education teacher at a rehabilitation center in Tokyo, supporting children on the autism spectrum—an experience that has always been a personal dream of mine. I strive to support all my students in enjoying learning and to encourage their natural curiosity. In my free time, I enjoy arts and crafts, especially knitting.

Ms. Dini
English Teacher

Dini Indonesia

Hello, I am Dini from Indonesia. I have been working in pediatrics since 2014. I love interacting with children to create a fun and engaging environment for learning. I believe by having a good relationship with children, it will make them feel safe and comfortable to learn new things. My goal is to maximize each child's potential through an interactive and fun learning environment.

Ms. Diwata
English Teacher

Diwata Philippines

Hi, I'm Diwata from the Philippines. I'm an IT Professional who also taught Computer classes from Kindergarten up Junior High School. I've also run my own business. I love working with kids and I want to help and guide them on learning the English Language.

Ms. Aye
English Teacher

Aye Myanmar

Hello, I'm Aye from Myanmar. I am a PhD student from Waseda University. I have experience teaching university students in Myanmar and online, and I have worked as an English speaking partner for high school students in Japan. I chose teaching because I believe education is essential to children's development. I enjoy learning environments where children can share fun and supportive moments with their teachers and peers. My goal is to support children in their early learning journey for their future growth.

Japanese Curriculum & Care

Caring for each child: our specialist staff

In Japanese curriculum, childcare, IQ, cooking, music and more, professionals in every field help nurture each child's individuality and what they love.

Ms. Risa Yoshida
Educational Guidance & Japanese Curriculum

Risa Yoshida RISA

Hello. I'm Risa Yoshida, and I create the Japanese curriculum. I have worked in education for about 13 years. Over that time I have met many children, from elementary to high school age, who struggled to fit into social life. As you may already know, early childhood education matters enormously—not only for shaping character, but also for physical, intellectual and social development. Drawing on my experience in areas such as intellectual development and entrance exam preparation, I want to build a curriculum that avoids rote cramming, respects each child's individuality, and still helps them develop cooperation and teamwork—all for the sake of the children's bright futures.

Ms. Aiko Iwayama
Childcare

Aiko Iwayama AIKO

Hello! I'm Aiko Iwayama. In my previous career I was a barista, working with coffee for about eight years. With a keen interest in other countries and languages, I made a fresh start and have been working in education for about three years now. I'm the kind of person who takes on any challenge the moment I think "I want to try that!" As a student I studied abroad in Canada, and later I taught Japanese in India as a Japanese-language teacher. This is my first time working in a role with children, but at Silicon Valley Academy I laugh, share joy and learn together with the children every single day. I look forward to working with you.

Ms. Tomoko Sekine
IQ Class

Tomoko Sekine TOMOKO

A child's IQ around age five is said to have a major influence on their later intellectual growth. Raising IQ depends equally on genetic and environmental factors. In the IQ class, we use enjoyable teaching materials to develop the five intelligence factors—"memory," "thinking," "concept," "figure" and "symbol"—and we nurture each child through praise and encouragement.

Ms. Motoko Niwa
Cooking Class

Motoko Niwa MOTOKO

I'm Motoko Niwa, in charge of the cooking class. Each month we choose a theme and incorporate seasonal ingredients and dishes from around the world, all while paying close attention to safety—how to use a knife, how to behave near a flame, and more. I would be delighted if it gives children more to talk about at home, coming back to say, "Look what I did today!" I look forward to working with you.

Ms. Keiko Shibata
Music & Output Class

Keiko Shibata KEIKO

Hello. My name is Keiko Shibata. After marriage and having children, I was a full-time homemaker for a while, but as my children grew I wanted to return to work in a way that drew on my experience. For more than ten years I have worked in roles involving children—teaching piano at a music school and at home, and teaching at an early-childhood class. I hope to help the children of SVA gather as many experiences of success as possible, and to draw out each child's individuality and strengths to the fullest. Through music lessons with Ms. Risa, I want to nurture not only their sense of pitch and sensitivity, but also their ability to listen. I look forward to working with you.
