Communication
Sharing your thoughts and understanding others. We treasure the back-and-forth of words and feelings.
We nurture real, living skills through experiences children can't help but dive into. Here's a look at SVA's curriculum.
Communication
Sharing your thoughts and understanding others. We treasure the back-and-forth of words and feelings.
Collaboration
Joining forces with friends and taking on goals no one could reach alone.
Critical Thinking
Cherishing "why?" — enjoying the process of thinking, testing, and convincing yourself.
Creativity
Your own answer to questions with no single right answer. We draw out the joy of expression.
Curiosity
Every bit of learning starts with "I love this" and "I want to know." We grow the power to get absorbed.
Computational Thinking
Through inquiry, we build the ability to think step by step.

* The above is one example from the GREEN class. Lesson content and times vary by class, day, and season. Mornings (8:00–14:00) are bilingual immersion time.
English at SVA isn't desk-bound study. It's immersion: being surrounded by an environment where Japanese and English fly back and forth naturally through songs, play, and activities. With English–Japanese switch-learning, our multinational teaching team also exposes children to a wide range of cultures and values.
Our goal is to raise children who think in Japanese, and can express in English what they've thought through in Japanese.

From 14:00, it's time to go deeper into interests — in Japanese. From science, art, cooking, math, dance & music, to physical education, children discover what they love across a wide range of programs.

It doesn't stop at learning to count money. Through repeated real experiences of earning, saving, spending, making, selling, and buying, we build the foundation of a "smart consumer" who can think and choose for themselves. On campus, we use SVA's own in-house currency, "SVA Money." From buying and selling at the "Star Mart" shop to real shopping trips in the community, children learn by moving between play and the real thing.
SVA never forces children into activities. It's the "Silicon Valley way" — delivering the right learning at the moment a child's interest and developmental readiness align. Because children choose for themselves and get absorbed, their learning goes deep and lasts.

Every day we prepare school lunches made with domestic, additive-free, organic ingredients, with careful attention to allergies. Through food education connected to hands-on farming — "grow it, cook it, eat it" — we build the foundations of body and mind.

It's not just language. From movement and the senses to food education, professionals in each field engage with children in earnest.
Dance and formal gymnastics build the foundation of a person's "sense." An acclaimed, internationally awarded dance instructor teaches directly, and every gymnastics instructor is a graduate of the Nippon Sport Science University gymnastics team. Dance is held in a dedicated studio and can be continued through the upper elementary grades.
We nurture the development of the senses in ways that carry over into life and business. A feel for numbers through language, food education through farming, and seasonal world-culture events centered on the U.S. all stimulate the five senses.
We serve school lunches made with domestic, additive-free, organic ingredients, with careful attention to allergies. We value food education tied to farming: grow it, cook it, eat it.
Specialized classes you can take on top of the regular curriculum. Open not only to our own children but to outside students as well.

SVA offers "elementary exam prep" as part of the afternoon program. Rather than cramming worksheets alone, we build "thinking power" and "the drive to see things through" from the ground up, through daily training in IQ, numbers, language, and fine motor skills. Without forcing, we grow the strength to face exams while having fun.

While you see the actual environment, we'll walk you through our features, educational philosophy, and curriculum in detail.
